Your privacy is important to us.

It is Runebot's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our Discord bot, https://runebot.app, and other websites we own and operate (hereinafter, "us", "we", "runebot.app" or "our".)

Data Collection & Use

We try our best to avoid collecting data unless it's necessary for the functionality, reliability, safety, or maintenance of Runebot.

Runebot may collect and store data you provide, data created through your use of Runebot commands, and technical data required to operate and troubleshoot the service.

This data includes:

  1. Discord User ID if you use Runebot's features that need to identify your Discord account, such as saving RuneScape account information or using account management features.

  2. RuneScape Account Data if you choose to set or search for an RSN. This may include your Old School RuneScape display name, skill levels and experience, and other similar public RuneScape stats returned by game-related data sources.

  3. Saved Account Data if you choose to save one or more RuneScape accounts to your Discord user. This may include saved display names, account metadata, default account selection, and related account-management data.

  4. Command Usage Data when you use Runebot commands or interactive components. This may include command names, command options, search terms, selected buttons/dropdowns, timestamps, and whether a command completed successfully or failed.

  5. Discord Context Data related to bot interactions. This may include Discord guild/server IDs, channel IDs, interaction IDs, and limited guild metadata where needed for bot functionality, debugging, metrics, or abuse prevention.

  6. Operational Logs and Metrics used to operate, debug, and improve Runebot. These logs may include log levels, lifecycle stages, trace IDs, session IDs, event IDs, error information, exception types, and limited technical metadata.

  7. Guild Lifecycle Data when Runebot is added to or removed from a Discord server. This may include safe guild metadata such as server ID, server name, member count, locale, feature flags, and bot permission information.

Runebot does not collect or store any message content outside of interactions with Runebot commands and bot-related events.

How We Use This Data

We use this data to:

  1. Provide saved RuneScape account and account-management features.
  2. Process slash commands, buttons, dropdowns, and other Discord interactions.
  3. Troubleshoot failed commands, expired interactions, API failures, and other technical issues.
  4. Monitor reliability, performance, usage patterns, and service health.
  5. Prevent abuse, spam, misuse, or unexpected behaviour.
  6. Improve Runebot's features, stability, and user experience.
  7. Support future opt-in features such as account snapshots, progress tracking, and RuneLite plugin integrations.

How We Collect This Data

We collect information by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used. You are free to refuse our request for this information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services without it.

Hosting Provider

Netlify provides hosting for this website, and may collect usage data including information such as your device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. The operators of this website do not have access to this data.

Data Retention

We store saved account data for as long as required to provide Runebot features, or until a data deletion request is made.

Operational logs and metrics are stored for debugging, reliability, safety, and maintenance purposes. These logs are not intended to be kept longer than necessary, but retention periods may vary depending on operational needs, storage constraints, abuse prevention, technical investigations, or future maintenance tooling.

Disclosure of Data

We care about your data. We will not give your user information to anyone outside of our team, other than in the belief that such action is necessary to:

  1. Comply with a legal obligation.
  2. Protect and defend the rights or property of Runebot.
  3. Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the service.
  4. Protect the personal safety of users of the service or the public.
  5. Protect against legal liability.

Runebot is an independent, non-commercial, and open-source project. We will never sell or rent your data to third parties.

Security

We value your trust in providing us with your personal data, thus we are striving to use a commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Deletion

If you wish for us to delete your data, please email us at privacy@runebot.app and we'll aim to delete your data within 48 hours.

Some limited information may be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect the service, investigate abuse, or maintain security.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we do make any changes, we will notify you by means of a notice on this website prior to the change becoming effective.
